30 Days of Health and Wellbeing - Day 3

We always have our challenges when trying to be fit and healthy. Mine is the motivation to go out and do exercise. I go running on Thursday nights, but last night, I didn't go. I've had a nagging thigh thing happening and wanted to be fit for my football match on Sunday.

Tonight I went out with friends for dinner, and while I didn't drink, there was a lack of "healthy options" for me to eat. However, I'm attempting to make up for it tomorrow by a yoga class AND a pilates class.

30 Days of Health and Wellbeing - Day 2

Today was a challenging day, as work has been quite stressful and I tend to stress eat! It is something that I have to deal with, and I am trying my best.

Day 1 and today involved the eating of cupcakes. There, I've confessed. They were green, so that led me to believe that they were maybe healthy. LOL.

I have succeeded in not drinking though, and as I normally have a glass of wine or two on Hump Day, I'm pretty impressed with myself!

30 Days of Health and Wellbeing - Day 1

Inspired by ACP Magazine's 30 Days of Health and Wellbeing, I am focusing on my health and wellbeing for the whole month of June.

I am actually participating in a couple of the 30 Days... events: Yoga Hula and Poise Pilates which promise to be loads of fun. I took part in their Yoga event last year with a friend, and had a great morning of free yoga. I also went home with a nice bag of freebies!

My main challenges for the month of June are going alcohol free, drinking enough water, eating well and exercising 3-4 times a week. How challenging can that be?! LOL.

I've made myself a calendar where I can record how well I've gone each day, and I will also be blogging here with updates on how I'm going. As you know, I've taken my measurements and weighed myself, so it is my aim to report here how I've gone each week, with today being Day 1.

The Healthy Librarian

This blog begins as a record of my attempts to become a healthier and fitter me. Since the beginning of this year, I have been feeling pretty sluggish and off. I have put on 2-3 (unwanted) kilos and I begin, on this first day of (Australian) Winter, in an attempt to drop those and become healthier overall.

I have taken my measurements, using these instructions, and have weighed myself in order to get a true reflection of where I've begun and how I am going on.

I have a few aims in this quest for greater health and wellbeing:

- Feel better! By which I mean more alert, less sluggish, less blerg!
- Lose the unwanted 2-3 kilos
- Lose some centimetres
- Gain greater overall fitness levels

Wish me luck on my journey... And even if no one reads this blog, at least it will be here as a record for myself on how I've gone and whether I have succeeded (or not).
